I bought the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World which was a good resource for planning even if the ratings for restaurants and attractions seem higher than warranted by the description. The app is mentioned again and again in the book so I downloaded it. My husband wasnt convinced about the app, and we didnt really use it our first two days. After the first two days I insisted we use it to tour Animal Kingdom. Even though we caught rope drop, it listed a 10 minute wait for Kilimanjaro Safaris while the ride had 30 minutes posted; we waited about 20 which meant we were behind the rest of the plan. We also couldnt find Cretaceous Trail, and I really wish the map from the website would be a part of the app.
Another issue is that there are many more character spots than the app lists which is why we would have had a hard time using the app our second day. It did okay in Hollywood Studios, but we didnt want to ride Rock n Rollercoaster. We gave it up for our fifth day to focus on Frozen due to weather (and being unimpressed with the shows like Carousel of Progress, Its Tough to be Bug, and the Frozen Sing-a-Long). On our seventh day we ignored the apps recommendation to wait for Seven Dwarves and waited about 40 minutes versus the app wanting us to wait over an hour.
My husband insisted on selecting three fastpasses every day against the apps advice, and I feel it gives good advice regarding fastpasses. I do wish it included in the attractions description those rides that arent a good use of fastpass because the fastpass line merges with the standby line well before the ride (looking at you Star Tours and Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin).
Our first day was a 9 according to the crowd tracker, and our other days were 5-6s. I had a hard time telling the difference as every single day felt crowded. Id be interested to see a 1 day.
I wouldnt purchase this app again due it not listing enough character greetings and not providing any better information than their book during our seven day visit.
